5 May 2023

3 Races done, review of the season so far.

3 Races done and here is an update on the results so far.

As usual the team have done a great job with this BMW 128Ti.

First time driving it was on the pre season testing day, just getting used to it.

For the first race we did some changes but unfortunately there was a mechanical damage after only 20 minutes of racing. It was running fine in the Friday test and qualifying so it was a bit unexpected and without any warning.

2 Race i was joined by one of the gentlemen that I will be sharing the car with during the season. and we did some editorial work with the setup that worked well.

We still have some way pace wise to take outright wins and podiums in the highly competitive class VT-2 front wheel drive. During the race I took the start and it was in mixed conditions. We made the wrong tyre choice and when the lights went green I went to the pits to change tyres.

came out last as nr 16... after one of the nieces stints of 1 hour I have done at the Nürburgring I handed the car over in 5th place.

going out for the last hour in position 9 i came back in 8 th position. During this last stint I really got a good feel of the car and had for race 3 already some setup changes in mind and after the data analysing I could figure out how to go even faster.

Race 3 went well and now the 3 drivers that are going to do the season are gattertherd. I did the quali run and we started in 8th position, I had a good lap but a bit of unlucky in the last part of the track ment i did not improve the lap time.

Race went well. I took the start again, going from P8 to P7 and had some good battles with the VT-2 RWD BMW 330i. Also during stint 1 I did the fastest lap that this car has done on paper. for stint 2 ( last hour) I took the car in P9 and took the car home at P7 so always advancing.

For the next race on the 17th of June there are some setup improvements planned already but to take on the Hyundai I30N Fastback i think we need to find more speed in a straight line or get some changes in the BoP. They are crazy fast... taking 2 sec in the last sector at the Nürburgring which is basically 3 km of straight at the dottinger höre.

As it stands now I will not take part in the 24H race due to budget reasons but for 2024 I hope to be at one of the biggest race events in the world.
